NaNoWriMo: Week One and On-Track. Mostly.

Sunday, the 8th of November, 2015

It’s the end of the first week of National Novel Writing Month – or Frantically Scribbling Adventure Game Nonsense November as I’ve been calling it, FranScrAdGaNoNo for short – and I have almost 14,000 words of… well, adventure game nonsense.

FranScrAdGaNoNo is a good way of keeping me honest and working on Cuthbert every day. If ‘working’ is really the word.

The guard on the left sighed.

One of us never tells the truth,’ she said, bored.

And the other one always lies!‘ the guard on the right finished with a grin.

Wait a minute,’ Cuthbert murmured, looking between the guards. ‘Isn’t…‘ He scratched his head. ‘One of you never tells the truth,’ he repeated uncertainly, ‘and the other one lies…?

That’s right,’ the guard on the right chirped. ‘Unless I’m lying about it.’

It’s not. It’s not the word.

To help ease the dread that Christmas is nearly upon us and I am no where near ready to conquer it, I did take one day off writing to buy Christmas presents. It was meant to be one morning off. And I was meant to buy substantially less Christmas presents for substantially more people, but if Cuthbert has proven anything, it’s that I’m not great with MVP.

Still, I’m on target and writing bad jokes like nobody’s reading. Uh, nobody’s reading, right?
